Nitrous oxide (N₂O) , commonly known as “laughing gas,” is a gas that that has legitimate uses including the production of whipped cream, sedation in healthcare, and to increase the power of car and rocket engines. However, nitrous oxide can also be used as a recreational drug.
Nitrous oxide is often perceived as harmless. Although the effects vary between people, heavy or regular use of nitrous oxide can have serious health risks.
